Also wondering, and with the little accommodation available, and little time left, I see a lot of potential participants being p$#@#$ off

You can always go and stay in the Lord Milner hotel. You must just remember in that part of the country 50 km is not far at all. On a couple of farms, your neighbours are farther than that. If you are looking for accommodation try Gecko Rock (been there once, most peaceful place where I've ever been. And if you want a loooong long rifle range they have it a couple km away on the way to the cabins). Otherwise try Vredefort on top of the mountain. If you need contact details please pm me.

Vredefort is fully booked already. Send the MD an email, there is some pretty good accommodation available just outside town (about 4km from the range) that has been “block booked” for competitors. Otherwise Gecko Rock is a solid option, the owners (Jonathan Deal and family) are idpa shooters and have an idpa certified range too. Karoo One is also an option, its a little further and pricey though. If you are going to stay there organise a crowd 😄
