Honestly I think it was also a bit of luck.. SWAT was quiet, no wind etc. BUT...this makes me confident to take them out to the veld :)

I think that recommendation from Federal is a generic one. For the 308 180gr Fusions they also recomend the same. I hunted with these last year, and although only 2 animals taken, they worked well. I have the bullet recovered from a BWB somewhere, will see if i can upload a picture.
Nice group pblaauw, i get similar resuls with the Fusions from my 308. Have shot 70 now and the results is repeatable if i do my part

Thanks AndreVal, I haven't shot any of the CM Fusions yet, bought the box and tossed it in the safe. I tend to buy CM ammo when I see it, then store it in the safe. Can't wait for hunting season to come :)

Ah ok, anyways just standard softpoints, the 156 gr would make some interesting bushveld loads, I would have liked to see how they perform.

The grom as mentioned by Pre-64 is PPU, S&B only makes one premium, and that is the exergy monolithic line. For the rest they load bullets from other manufacturers, like nosler partition and sierra gameking.

These specific ammp start out slow so they should be fine for heart-lung shots if avoiding big bones.

I chronied the FMJBT 140gn they also produce (used those to break in the barrel). Printed to be 810ms (2657fps), and true speeds out of my 24inch Howa was 2589fps. Apparently these do the same speed... Not very fast, but not slow either...
