    Default Nylon Punch?

    Hi folks
Does anyone know who may stock a nylon ended punch?
I am looking to change out some Glock sights and want to use a nylon punch to tap out the rear sight.
I cannot justify several thousand rand for a sight tool.

I am located in Cape Town. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

A few small G-clamps and a machine vice (if you've got access to one) makes a good substitute for an expensive sight pusher. have a look on yootoobe, there are some good ideas there.

Thanks, I did look at those, but they all look like they are destined to scratch up the slide then they slip.
Would prefer to try the nylon punch route, less chance of damage...

Try the yellow nylon bushes used on trucks and bakkies and cut it as you need it then use a normal hammer to tap it lightly.

Bottom bush large enough hole to slide sight into as you tap it out from the slide.

The old hard plastic toothbrushes, have come in handy in the past. Not the soft plastic flexible head jobs. Cut off the head with a hacksaw and file the tip to fit any shape you require.

I have stuck some duct tape over a normal pin punch when I wanted to remove a pin without leaving any marks.

Im sure some of the shops in Cape Town will change out the sights for you for a small fee. Most of them have the proper sight pusher

Apologise for not knowing exactly which one

Try using a brass punch or something made from brass.
