    Default Graith Specialist vs Badger X

    Hello all.
    I am considering one of these 2 Belts for EDC:
    * Graith Specialist Belt
    * Daniels/Hailstorm Badger X

    I EDC my CZ Duty IWB in a kydex holster with wml at 3:30.
    My belt is never exposed so I do not need the aesthetics a leather EDC belt offers.
    I am also looking for a belt that I can micro adjust easily.

    I have read most/all the EDC BELT threads I could find here and so I have some idea about the Badger X and this seems to tick all the boxes however I cannot seem to find any review on the Graith Specialist belt.
    Can anyone offer some hands on experience with the Graith Specialist belt please?

    I posed this question to Khumba, one of the owners of Hailstorm and his response was:

    "Both are equal IMO. The Graith is a bit thicker and more sturdy. Both offer adequate adjustability." So it will come down to personal preference and buckle styles.

    Following on from that he went on to rather recommend the Kore belts, either leather or webbing as they are more supportive and they are infinitely adjustable due to the use of a ratchet system. The ratchet systems ease of use is honestly phenomenal on a belt!

    Hi Bjorn
    Did he say anything about the Nexbelt Defender? Its also a ratchet belt sold by them for almost the same price as the Kore- I'm currently looking for a belt and was on their website yesterday.
    If they had the Nexbelt in black leather i would have already ordered it, but they only have brown leather and green webbing according to their site.
    US reviews seem to give slight advantage to Nexbelt, the BladeTech collaboration model anyway, not sure if it is the same model as the Defender. I see it is a Defender II on Hailstorms site, not sure of the differences.
    It sucks being in Durbs, no one has these belts to try. Sniper and CR Speed being the only options i could see in visits to 3 gun shops this week.

    This is what he said: "I can say that the Kore is a much more supportive and stiff belt than the NexBelt. My leather NexBelt shows quite a bit of non-reparable wear on the leather after about 2 years of wear around 3 times per week. I think the Kore leather will wear better but I really cannot comment on how the leather will perform with EDC due to not having used a leather Kore personally – that is going to depend a lot on the type of holster and mag carrier hard wear that will go over the belt in EDC use. I am convinced the Kore range is quite a bit better than the NexBelt range. The Kore has a better stiffener between the leather layers than the NexBelt"

    He also went on to say that the RGB is hads down the best ratchet gun belt out there albeit it is double the cost of the Kore belts.

    "If you are going to have only one belt and it would have to be a dress belt and an EDC gun belt I would recommend the RGB. I am convinced the RGB will give you a decade or two of excellent service. The RGB leather will be good for all types of carry for a long time and will be possible to keep it looking the best with some type of leather food."

    "If your budget is not going to allow for the RGB the Kore will have to do. Remember that the Kore belt can be replaced in future to use with your buckle when it is not usable any longer. "

    Thanks Bjorn881

    I have used and tried a lot of belts - I am a belt whore.

    I have used for edc and range the following over several years: Liger, Wilderness, Looper Leather, Magpul, CompTac Leather, Ares Gear Ranger, Daniel's Badger, Daniel's BadgerX, Graith, NexBelt "Leather", NexBelt Cordura , Kore Cordura.

    I still use my Liger belts from time to time. I hardly use my Wilderness or Ranger or Badger or Graith belts anymore. I try all of the belts we stock or stocked and others.

    Taking everything and every belt into account my final pick is a ratchet buckle belt. The micro adjustability and convenience and easy of on and off just overshadow everything else that is available.

    My range belt is a Kore synthetic - awesome belt and it seems to be tough. It is stiff.

    My EDC is a RGB. This belt is the best I have ever used. The buckle to belt attachment is bullet proof. The leather with the insert is supportive and yet it is supple and very comfortable. The qulaity is super. They got the combo between support and comfort exactly right. I have been EDCing the RGB for the past 6 or so months and it hardy shows any wear even with AIWB gun, mag carrier, AIWB FB and OWB FB carry. The only negative is that it is expensive at 2x the price of a Core. Hailstorm currently offers the RGB with 2 buckles - a silver natural colour buckle that can be engraved or cerakoted and a gun metal coloured buckle.

    Hi Khumba, with continual adjustment of the ratchet system does the design in any way wear the leather.I ask in that I have seen previous designs that chew into the leather. The one belt that impressed me was the looper; not too stiff, yet supportive and with a look that could do fairly nicely for smart casual.

    With Kore and RGB and NexBelt I have not experienced any issue- The ratchet works on a track that is inlaid in the belt and there is no reason that the ratchet system would chew the leather. What brand did you observe doing that?

    The RGB leather is superior to the Looper leather as is the belt quality and finish.

    For those who may read this thread and be interested, I came across a review of the Graith belt by Craig Douglas (Southnarc)
    https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...00001604946995

    I've decided to go with the Graith belt.

    Can anyone advise on Graith sizing guidelines please? I've read conflicting advice about sizing and would like to hear from people who actually wear the Graith belt please.

    Hi Khumba

    Sorry for the hijack, do you guys have stock of the Kore tactical belts or the BadgerX?

    Don’t see it on the website.
