Default Rechargeable CR123 in Inforce APL ?

Has anyone successfully used rechargeable CR123 batts (Like Nitecore) in an Inforce APL ?

Don't particularly want to fry my 3k WML.

I have used the Nitecore rechargeable in my Inforce WML with no issues.

Bud, I was advised against this by someone who knows a lot more than I do. I just try to find the best quality CR123A batteries at the best price. I managed to find Panasonic at R30ea. Which I felt was a darn good price compared to competitors like energizer, GP etc

The electronics can handle the increased voltage and it is somewhat brighter (Moomin and I tested it). Just bear in mind that rechargeables don’t really dim, they give you pretty much all the light until suddenly it gives you zero light. It also has about 50% capacity of the CR123.

A normal CR123 battery is rated at 3.0V. The nightcore batteries are 3.7V.

Others are saying they've used the nc batteries in their Inforce WML, and I believe the later model Inforce can handle the higher voltage, although not designed for it. Most WML on CR123's can't, you will pop the led.

Is it worth it..? R80 to R140 per standard CR123, vs. R3k for a new WML - I think not.

    4.2V when fully charged.

We’ve tested a 1st Gen APL with RCRs and the electronics handled it.

The capacity is unpredictable so I use CR 123 exclusively.

Absolutely. Not advising using RCRs, just giving personal experiences so that the OP makes an informed choice.

While the APL was still mine (it got a more deserving home when I emigrated) I also exclusively used CR123 in it.

Thanks guys, I bought a box of surefire cr123's while in the US and have been putting a new one in the light every 2 months. My concern is not knowing how much life the batt has left, I never know if i'm going to have 3 min or 30 min of light.
Perhaps a battery tester is the answer.

More questions for the clever okes, just went looking the olight website, The mini light they sell seems to be the answer, a built in battery that can be recharged on the pistol, any experience from the gallery ?
