Although I am no pro, the only insight I can offer is to not call the cheap bullets you make at home DIY. People are just going to make fun of you.

I was surprised to see that I can get Frontier cheaper in Germany than what some of you guys get it in SA.

When you say R1 per bullet you mean just the bullet head? Or including the shell?

P.S. I now know making your own bullet is called "reloading". LOL. Had to start from somewhere :)

Many of us reload; the old rule is that it won't save you money - you will just shoot more for the same amount

Reloading saves you enough to make it worthwhile. Please read the threads on reloading.

Most important things:

1. Read a lot.
2. Work carefully - with an experienced person and then alone.
3. Shoot over a chrony.
4. Enjoy!

Thanks man, thats what i need. Shoot more for same amount or shoot the same amount for less....I didnt realise ammo had become so expensive.... a few round could easily = Burger King meal.
