Re: Getting something smaller
Nothing wrong with G26. everything right with it actually. Without have even seen a G43X and 48 I cant imagine there are huge advantages to these two pistols. With a flush fit it is very concealable. It shoots like a way bigger gun. Add a plus 2 or a pinkie extension and its not far off a G19 in shootability. Hand in the application.

Re: Getting something smaller
Get your hands on a G48. Enough gun to shoot well, and it will dissappear on you if you're used to carrying a CZ85.
A G26 is always a good choice too

Re: Getting something smaller
Because money. Really.
Anyway, so I finger banged some guns at Huntex this weekend. I checked out all the CZ offerings (except P10S, couldn't find a P10S), including the P07 and the P10C, and also checked out the Glocks, including the G19, G26, G43 and the G43X.
So, my take on the guns.
P07: I love it. I have experience with the gun, and it's a hammer fired weapon, so obviously I love it. However, it's still too big for what I have in mind. That slide is THICK.
P10C: Good gun. Still a bit big, but I LOVE that trigger. To me it's a much crisper and lighter break than on the Glocks, but the shape to me is a tad odd. I don't know, it feels slightly weird in my hand.
G19: Good gun. It's making me doubt the subcompacts.
G26: My favourite so far. Bummer about the trigger in these guns out of the box, as well as those fantastic sights. But good gun. I like it.
G43: It's too flat. I find myself really struggling to get a good grip on the gun, both when aiming as well as when working the slide. Yes, it's training, I know, but it just doesn't sit right for me.
G43X: Same as above. The flat grip and profile of the gun I can only imagine hides away like a dream, but goodness me what a bad grip on the weapon for me. It feels like I'm holding one of those pressed wood toy guns you buy at church fairs that shoots rubber bands. I know it's still 9mmP, but oi vey...
On that note, 2 points to mention:
1. Why in the name of all that is good do they still make EDC guns, for civilians, in calibers other than 9mmP? I'm serious now. I saw a few 380 Auto weapons there at Huntex and I simply can't fathom what the use for it is. Guns are the same size, same weight and they take the same amount of ammo, so why?
2. That old argument of "grip angles" between CZ and Glock being so different that it'll make you shoot high/low is complete and utter BS. In the time I trigger banged the guns I was at one stall where there were two "gun trees", one full of Glocks, on full of CZs. Pick one up, grip it and when I point it, the sights line up on target for both. So again, it's BS.

Re: Getting something smaller
The grip length difference between the Gen 1 9c and the G26 is the width of a 9mm casing but the G26 is smaller, while the G19 is way larger than the 9c. The 9c is the in between size of the two
Glock minus connector + Eemann spring kit makes a sweet trigger (i kept the factory firing pin spring though)
A G26 with the +2 shoe still prints less than a G19... dependant on your belly size though.
