If you want to use it for IDPA you should have IDPA endorsement.

Ok I am with you there I have not joined idpa club yet so I will revert to steel shoots with NHSA ?

It's a pleasure. Remember to provide documentary proof of the info contained in your motivation such as proof of memberships, photos of safe, copy of competency cert + training provider cert & statement of results etc. With NHSA I include a list of the shooting exercises that they offer. I also include a few photos of me shooting various disciplines (some people dont include any photos so not a prerequisite).

Recent Pretoria high court ruling

Mr J.D Richards Vs Saps
He applied for a semi auto shotgun section 16 it was refused
He appealed and refused again

Mr justice Ranchod ruled in his favour and ordered CFR to issue him his licence.
The judge confirmed that section 16 of the firearms control act 2000 contained no provision for motivations to accompany licence applications
