Barrel replacements & SAAADA's case
Some time back I was informed that the SAPS declared that you were no longer allowed to do barrel replacements. I had already got a permission in progress and today went to hand in the 521 G form. My Dfo called Bellville SAPS provincial branch and according to somebody there, there is no moratorium on Barrel replacements and everything is business as usual.
ANybody got info on this?

Re: Barrel replacements
I specifically asked my smith about this, and he didn't know that anything had changed. He told me that it's business as usual.

Re: Barrel replacements
From Martin Hood's page on 29 May at 11h41:
Hi Everybody onto more topical and practical issues.
I received written confirmation yesterday that barrel changes are officially verboten by the cfr . This decision was taken without consultation, is contrary to past practice , is contradictory to what the act and regulations provide for and is simply inexplicable other than to conclude it is mendacious and intended to limit our access to firearms through a process of executive decree and intentional incorrect interpretation of the law. The decision maker is indicated as mabule so I sense another court fight and personal cost order against him.
Further information will follow.

North Gauteng high court just gave SAADA its interim interdict with costs.

SAAADA's barrel replacement case
This just in from Martin Hood
Hi everybody breaking news: The North Gauteng High court gave judgment in favour of SAAADA interdicting the police from stopping barrel replacements and costs of the urgent application.
There is a written judgment which I have not seen but I will provide more detail in due course.
Pls remember the dealers did it not only for themselves but for all of us. Pls support their main case financially on 5 August.
