Check out the adhesive section at your local Builders. They stock a good variety of anti-slip tapes in different colors and textures. I use the granulated for ipsc and have tried the vinyl type on my carry gun. When it wears out, you cut another piece from the roll.

I shall deliver unto thee the greatest secret of firearm and reloading maintenance and cleaning, formerly only known to professionals, preachers and over achievers, and kept from the general public for obvious reasons.

What ever you can screw up, a compressor helps you screw it up more!

Instead of going to a gunsmith, buy a dremel at your local hardware store and do it yourself

Instead of using bog roll, get a packet of rags from builders etc.Far more absorbent and doesn't disintegrate. Cheap and effective, plus can be cut into bore patches.A pair of scissors are part of my cleaning kit along with ear buds, toothpicks and an old toothbrush.

I was very pro do it myself a few years back already, still am. I see perceptions have changed much. I posted if silicon could be used as a lubricant that would not affect primers - reason is I do not clean my hand gun often and am concerned about primers and oil. It was shot down in so many ways by the live in red alert guys - now I see same peoples also no longer strip and clean every day. I spoke of making own cleaners and lubes and there was much negativity and attack by the red alert life style guys. Why would you want to try make it it costs nothing to buy etc. Are you really to lazy to clean your weapon regularly, your life may depend on it etc.
I see things have changed much in last 7/8 years.
