The question only arises if any one knows you carry. If know one knows then --- what was the question again ???

Re: Legal to carry concealed on a university campus?
Vuurdoop, I carried on campus at all times when I got my license. Stellenbosch's rules or policies stated that they respect the right to self defense and the law which enables a person to carry a firearm but they wish not to have firearms on campus etc.. something to the likes of that. It came down to the fact that of right of admission and not being able to be a true gunfree zone because then they need to provide lock up facilities etc.
I EDC'd while studying and writing exams etc. Just get a decent holster and continue on with your llife.

Re: Legal to carry concealed on a university campus?
At tuks you are not allowed to carry firearms and can face a disciplinary hearing should you be caught. You may request permission at the head of security but I think you'll be really lucky if you manage to get permission. I've never seen them search any one but they may search you at any time as per the contract you signed to study here.
I've applied here about 3 years ago so maybe I forgot some detail but this is how I understand the policy.

Re: Legal to carry concealed on a university campus?
i dont see how you go from being caught with a gun on campus
straight to jail?
monopoly maybe
you would be asked to leave, and face a disciplinary hearing
education department is all about students rights, and I'll wager if you could prove why you carried you would be fine
I went to varisty college, they had our exams on the marine parade in durban beachfront
so it was carry and be naughty, or run the risk of a whoonga kid or some beast trying to stab me for my phone
no parking at exam venue, we had to walk about 600m , and i ended up with a flat tyre on tollgate bridge
just saying
carry

Re: Legal to carry concealed on a university campus?
When I was on campus the Inkatha and the ANC took part in pistol and rifle ;).
Then the AWB got hold of the rifle club administration and refused entry for students they deemed not making the cut ... They then got closed down and sadly rules about carrying on campus took the other turn . Sad because most of my lectures and many of us students used to shoot together and guns were carried to campus.live out your imagination , not your history.
