I might be deviating a bit, but seeing the kudu cow it joggled my mind to ask the following. The cow I shot on our recent hunt had a slaugthered weight of 104kg. Do you have stats on cows that have been shot in your area?

We don't shoot kudu cows. I used to have extensive records for kudu cows (and bulls) shot in the Bedford area but lost them when a hard drive crashed, 104kg sounds like a large cow, by Eastern Cape standards any way.

Old dry cows, fattened up because they are not productive anymore, reach around 100kg (dressed out) in my area. Younger and still productive cows would likely weigh in around 80kg, but we don't shoot them intentionally. Anybody who does manage to bag a pregnant cow will be dealt with in a harsh manner...
