The challange: Luger P08 vs VP70z
So, I challenged the wife to a friendly IDPA clubshoot.
I will be using my newly licensed 1938 Mauser manufactured Luger P08.
Wife will be using her trusty old H&K VP70z.
Both of us are SS rated.
She accepted.
Will let everyone know when the date will be.

Following this....
This is kind of unfair, pitting a sexy sleek model against an ungainly, overweight one...
Sell that ugly Vp and buy a P7...

Re: The challange: Luger P08 vs VP70z
At least the are both German...
Going to be interesting as she is used to a fairly tricked out SP01. Weight at least should not be an issue.
At least mine has a bolt hold-open feature after the last round fired. Something the guys who designed the VP70 seemingly forgot to implement.
And then there's the heel release of the magazine on the VP70...
And the "great and innovative front shadow sight".

Do two runs ( second run swap guns).
I put money on VP.

Re: The challange: Luger P08 vs VP70z
The only thing that the VP has over the P-08 is probably reliability. Although my own Luger that I had (1915 model), was 100% reliable. Some seem to be finicky.

The VP70 trigger is terrible. Almost impossible to shoot fast. My money's on the Luger.
