    Default Appeal vs Re-application

What would the best course of action be in case of a refusal? Appeal or re-apply? I'm getting conflicting views.

What was the reason for the refusal?

I know that some guys re-apply immediately to save time because it can take months for them to give you the reason for the refusal.

That's BS, your DFO can print out a refusal letter within 24-48 hours of your refusal notification.

My first S13 application was refused. I re-applied with the exact same motivation and it was approved the second time.

    YMMV

If your motivation is strong and your application was declined with some bs generic reason (you couldn't convince the registrar of a need for this firearm), then appeal.

If your application was declined for a specific reason, then fix that problem and re-apply.

I have re applied just to be refused again and then won on appeal. So I firmly believe an appeal is the way to go if your initial application was solid

I have come to the conclusion that there is no way of determining best method, there is no rhyme or reason for way they work, or fail to work its just a plain F"Up. No logic no reason no procedure, just a good ol shit hole mess.

You are re-applying to the very same person who just refused your application. I know some people who have done this three times in a row. Appeal.

I appeal every time. With the first refusal, I appealed and re-applied. I had the firearm in my hand through the appeal before the re-application went through the process
