Big difference between an 8 year old running around with an orange and green water pistol grabbing mom's purse versus a 16 year old with hoodie/balaclava and a black or silver handgun.

And damn right having a replica firearm and committing armed robbery can get you shot. Many replica guns or "toys" are almost indistinguishable from real firearms.
