Yeah Im leaning more towards getting one of these because all I want is sharp knives, I hate a blunt knife more than anything.... Wont be using it on any special blades such as my Great Grandfathers Kukuri, rather on my EDC Spyderco or CRKT, and def on all my kitchen knives...... Thanks for the advise guys

Would it be better to get the spyderco sharpmaker to keep my edc knives and kitchen knives sharp? Because of the longer blade life and less chances of messing up a blade?

    I love my Sharpmaker.

But reprofiling a blade on it will give you nightmares. And blisters.
I need to get the aftermarket diamond stones for that work.

I’d MAYBE use a belt system to reprofile a blade, but once done I’d use stones. Too easy to mess up a good blade with a burnt edge or taking off too much material.
I’m also pretty sure I can get a knife sharper on the stones, but that’s a moot point because that edge that can shave slivers off a hair strand does not last long at all.

That last part, about that fresh crisp hair and paper cutting sharp edge not lasting long, thats whats giving me a pain in the ass, so if I could sharpen once every 2 weeks and have that sharp edge again, id be happy.....

And replace your knife frequently due to excessive sharpening.

Also look at the Warthog sharper, Im very happy with mine. EDC knifes, hunting Knifes and kitchen Knifes gets sharpen on it. Takes a bit longer but a lot less aggressive on te blade

    Which one, the pull-through one?

The V-Sharp Classic 2. It is a pull through system yes. The 2 stones runs on guides that gives away when you pull the knife through it. You also get different course stones and a ceremic one for polishing/maintaining

Sharp is a relative term, ultra sharp like 10-20 degrees will get blunt very fast and require more frequent sharpening, sharp at 25-30 is good for general purposes and will take much more use to wear the edge. Unless you want to shave with your knife I see no reason to go with 10-20 degree sharpness.
