Been scratching found silicon grease question, not the cleaning regime one - wonder how it was worded.
But Ye know T - really will not bother me much if I am wrong - that said I clearly remember some one stating his weapon is cleaned every night.

Unless it is an EDC gun worn for 12 hours straight in an IWB holster in Durban or PMB in summer, on a construction site involving a shit-load of walking. I skipped one day and found out how quickly the (stainless?) slide rails moulded into the frame can be pitted on a Glock. After that I stripped it each night as I got home, dried it out, wiped it clean / scrubbed out reddish-brown muck, and applied oil...every night.
