Vortex Crossfire 2 MOA Red Dot
I am considering a budget red dot for an AR-15 (current use will be plinking at the range while I build the courage to compete in SAPSA) while I save for a variable optic (possibly a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8). The key here is that I want a red dot that is not solely built for AR's (e.g. the Vortex Sparc AR). I want a red dot that can re-purposed i.e. mounted on an AK / shotgun / .22lr bolt action using a low mount.
My question: is the Vortex Crossfire a decent red dot or should I consider other red dots. What are the alternatives? Max budget is R4,500.00

Re: Vortex Crossfire 2 MOA Red Dot
I bought one of these. Using it on my Ruger MArk 4 22lr.
Might one day try it on my Marlin 44mag lever action.
Only thing holding me back on the Lever Action.
Is that I think its a sin to add a scope or red dot on a lever Action.
Peep Sight yes.
But Ive had the crossfire for awhile. Using it with out the riser.
But it works brilliant.
Plus Vortex has good warranty.

Re: Vortex Crossfire 2 MOA Red Dot
Ended up getting the Vortex Crossfire. Initial impressions are very good. Still to be field tested.
