    OVS Martini Rifle type 1
This specific batch of 1500 Martini rifles was supplied by P Webley and Son. They are similar to the standard Mark II British Military Martini but seem to have been made up of old war department parts.
To the front bottom of the left side of the receiver, you will find the serial number with the letters OVS stamped overhead. The Knox form is marked with the winged bullet over W&S. These rifles are fairly scarce as this batch only consisted of 1500 rifles. It also seems as if P Webley and Son produced very few rifles and instead chose to focus on producing revolvers ( If any Webley collectors could shed some light on this it would be appreciated).

Thanks to Pegasus for all the interesting Boer War posts.
For those that have not seen one here are photos of the original tool for adjusting the front sight on a Plezier Mauser.

Thank you Uber. Please tell me that you have the Plezier mauser that fits your adjustment tool.
