Moer koffie
Guys I have read about "moer koffie" in hunting stories . Tell me more, is it as simple as brewing ground coffee in an enamel pot and throwing condensed milk? Is there more to it than that?

Re: Moer koffie
"Moer koffie" is simply ground coffee that's boiled. The addition of condensed milk is optional. If you're feeling adventurous around the camp fire at night, add brandy. Then you really have, well, "moer" koffie.

Re: Moer koffie
Moerkoffie would be the noun. Moer koffie would be an action.

Re: Moer koffie
Louis L'Amour wrote that coffee only gets good on the third day. Throwing out the dregs too often wasn't the thing to do. I tried it out: simply adding the ground coffee to the mix. The taste really changes.

Re: Moer koffie
The moer in moerkoffie refers to the ground coffee beans.
I now want to try moerkoffie, condensed milk, with a shot of brandy.

Re: Moer koffie
I heard a rumour several years ago that sticking a smouldering stick into the coffee pot would make the floating coffee grounds sink to the bottom. I have cloth bag that the grounds go in, so have never had the oppertunity to try this. Can anyone confirm the thruth of this?
