Which 22 SLR To Buy
Good day to all members. I'm toying with the idea of purchasing a 22LR SLR but not sure what to look for. Budget on the rifle in total will be about 15k, 12k for the rifle and the balance on ammo, extra mags, sling etc. The RDS will come at a later stage when funds allow.
I have been looking at the ISSC Scar and the S&W 15-22. I see the scar is about 2k cheaper but I won't cheap out if there is any issues with it. Purpose of the rifle will be to do postal shoots for NHSA and obviously some fun on the range.
Any input will be highly appreciated.
Regards

Re: Which 22 SLR To Buy
I also bought the 15-22.
Main reason was to train on a AR platform.
My son loves shooting the 15-22.
Great rifle.

Re: Which 22 SLR To Buy
I don't own a 15-22 but have shot one a fair bit that belongs to a mate. His is extremely picky on ammo and he's blown two extractors with out of battery discharges. It doesn't like lead jacket rounds.
I believe his issues are isolated. It runs copper jacket very well.
Would I buy one? Yes, but I'd do some more homework first.

Re: Which 22 SLR To Buy
I own a Sig 522. Very happy with it.
BUT, would recommend rather go for a bolt-action. Ammo lasts significantly longer...... :)
Choose something which has easily available magazines. Sig 522 mags are not that easy to get.

15/22 is real fun. Buy mags and ammo. My gun swallows anything. Put a RDS and then you really play

Re: Which 22 SLR To Buy
I wonder why the Ruger 10-22 doesn't feature at IPSC Mini Rifle matches...?
