Default Aftermarket Barrel for Glock 17 Gen 5 (Licencing it)

    Hi there all.

Hope this post is in the right location.

I'm looking to buy an aftermarket barrel for my Glock 17 Gen 5 (Still need to find someone that can import it for me as there is none locally available).
My question is regarding the licencing of such a barrel. How exactly would I go ahead with such a mission?
I still want to keep my original one, but would like to get an additional aftermarket one (Extended and threaded)

Hope someone can help shed some light for me.

PS. Who might be able to help me import one?

    Thanx.

Bellum Arcus can import it for you. It's their speciality.

If you're licensing an additional barrel it would follow pretty much the same procedure as licensing a firearm.

With the ballache of having to license it you’re better off with a second pistol.

Why would you want another barrel. Although the factory once are not match precision barrels. Unless you mount the pistol solid and shoot. I dont think a normal person will see any difference in accuracy.

Very few aftermarket barrels will outshoot a Gen5 barrel.

    Most shooters won’t outshoot a Gen3

Apart from the initial cost of the barrel and the barrel cost being more than USD 100... there is also an USD 250 export license application fee applicable.

in order to apply for the export license you need to submit:
    1) sign/dated purchase order
    2) import certificate

Good luck as the return on effort is minimal to none.

When did it increase to $250? It used to be $200, at least about 1.5 years ago when I was building my 300blk and tried the direct export myself, although it was via Brownells (please note, this wasn't for the receivers and barrel, that was done through Bellum Arcus).
