    Default Norinco CQA round count

    Hi all,

What round counts do all of the CQA owners around here have on their AR's so far? and what has been replaced so far(not counting upgrades)?

I am on 600 going strong.

    Rookie numbers ;-)

Speak to the guys at DSG and Tactical 22/HQ. Those CQA's have seen abuse and still keep running.

Rifle 1: 38k rds min, with 3 x complete bolts, and a few bolt cams, gas tubes, Norinco bolt is one of the strongest we have seen, we struggle to get replacement bolts to last more than 2-4k, we used Tracer/Surplus/S&B and plenty PMP, rifle is very early import, around 2014. It is now in storage as it has become unreliable and needs major rebuild, some ammo will keyhole at 15m.

Rifle 2: 14krds with multiple bolts, several cams, gas tubes. This rifle had a suppressor running for a good few thousand rds, it was a much later import, late 2017 if I recall. It seemed to fail far more frequently, many many broken cams, extractors and pins, 2 gas tubes were replaced due to wear, seems the gas key rubbed against the tube leading to poor seal and excessive gas leak, resulting in reliability issues. Maybe out of spec gas key, but seemed to be more batch related. Barrel seems ok, no key holes with any ammo we use. Tracer was not used while suppressor was fitted, is was a hotter load and tended to blow out a primer every few shots. Rifle in storage, awaiting rebuild.

Suppressed 5.56 self loading DI rifles will show significant wear over same period/rd count when compared to unsuppressed rifles.

This is our experience and not based on scientific tests of any sort.
