Thread: Old ammo

    Default Old ammo

Hi guys, I recently found some old 9mm parabellum FMJ ammo that was bought some 12 - 15 years ago. Will it still be safe to use? If not, how can I safely dispose of.

Pull a few of their bullets. If the powder is still ok you should be able to shoot them.

Fire them slowly and make sure that there is a hole in the target for every shot you take.

If they were stored correctly, then they should be ok.

If you are unsure, give them to me and I will dispose of it properly on a shooting range.

15 years ain't nothing. I've shot ammo older'n I am. OK, once had an interesting situation where ammo that had lived in the gun for like 10 years didn't work so well. But I blame the gun oil.

Found these recently, must be 20 years old or more, will test them this weekend.
