Cant the case be made that if he saves like 2 or 3k he can use it to buy ammo and get good? Isnt it all about the indian

And if the arrow doesn’t work as well shoot as straight or last as long ?

Also I hate than arrow not Indian analogy. Because even little old me with an Open gun will beat Eric with a 38 Snub on a 32 round stage.

Would'nt the Canik make more sense as it comes with the salient trigger etc etc that one would buy for the Glock

I ask because I want to buy the tp9 sf elite but can't seem to fond one regardless

@bigt : i think thats an unfair comparison. Eric on canik with an optic vs you with an open will it still be as easy to beat?

Also the assumption that a canik is going to break all the time. If its in comp should it not be maintained properly and often?

Just curious. I carry a glock 19 in case anyone thinks im a anti glock guy.

Maintenance can’t make up for quality. But you seem keen on that route so go right ahead.

This is a very overused statement.

If he would have trained nothing otherwise, the 500 additional rounds will make a significant difference. If he's already shooting 500 rounds a month, the additional 1000 rounds will have less of an impact.

If that is the last ever 2 or 3k in his budget, he need to make the choice. If there are other funds available, he can have both. If there aren't other funds available, but it will become available over time, he can add practice bit-by-bit as the funds become available, but he can't change the Canik into a Glock bit-by-bit.

Just to ad, if you do go for the Glock 17 Gen5 MOS, then you will own another carry gun should the need ever arise

But the canik could be carried regardless?

I like the Canik and I'm no glock fan, but the availability of glock parts and support just makes sense
I can't even find the tp9 sf elite, locally, so yeah go glock for the reason of parts and support
