Default Question RE: working with firearms, licensing, cans and cants.

    Hey everybody,

Just wanted to ask the experienced guys on this site.

Being a CPO, what are the laws around owning my own firearms and using them for "business"

Ie) company or client wants to contract me, but do not have the correct equipment or firearms.

Am i allowed as an individual to purchase a rifle and handgun, register the as business firearms and use them
when needed in my contract work?

    Thanks so much

You would need to work for a PSIRA registered company if you intend to use firearms for any kind of security work!

Private security industry regulating authority, you need a PSIRA grade C to work with firearms and at least a grade B if you intend to register your own security company.

And of course you need to obtain the business proficiency certificates relevant to the type of firearm you intend to use!
