Re: Spekboom for dinner?
It is definitely edible. It's nice to throw a handle of leaves into a smoothie.

It's leaves are edible, I have eaten it in the veld straight from the bush and in a green salad. It can have a bitter slightly dry aftertaste.

Makes me think of the Crocodile Dundee movies. "You can eat it but it tastes like shit" or "it needs garlic"

Full of nutrients. Don't recall the specs but the leaves of moringa trees too are full of trace elements and vitamins. Poor african communities north of us eat these and a few other trees leaves with their pap to supplement thier foods. Will link the article if I can find it.

Re: Spekboom for dinner?
So my work gave all staff a cutting of Spekboom this week for reaching a milestone but it doesn't seem to be too happy, any tips?
They also had some which don't appear to be cuttings and were already in little plastic pots which I also took one of - this one seems to be doing quite well.

Re: Spekboom for dinner?
Today for the first time in my life i saw vegan cold meat. And i cant help to wonder how much crap they had to mix into that shit to make it look like cold meat.
And why the f. Do vegans wanna eat something that looks like meat if they dont want to eat meat????
