Re: MOVIE: MOFFIE
As stated , "Sugar man" brought me here.
The cover version that was excellent if not better than Rodriguez himself was Just Jinger.
and I still love the original

This is a good conversation to be had, but it’s not unique to apartheid SA, it’s, also indicative of the progression of a society. 40yrs back many things were verboten world wide, today they are accepted. It’s good to reflect on the small changes in societies Overton window and it shows where you are headed.
Also to say all of what made up SA prior to 94 was bad is a miscarriage of history. Sweeping brushes don’t work.

Re: MOVIE: MOFFIE
Human nature is a funny thing.
Now, all those years later we sit in a democratic society with a murder rate higher than that of a war zone. Imagine if we had the means to debate over time, and we debate with those in power back then, what would they say? We would tell them they were old bastards and they would tell us we fucked the country up just as they predicted we would. We will not be able to defend our conviction since our reality is a sad one, we have fucking moderators on this forum leaving this country because it’s so fucked up.
This is why I am a recluse, humans, eish.

South Africa was always a very violent country.
South African Govt always stole money and fixed friends with golden handshakes
South Africa was a puppet
South Africa still a puppet
I never knew we had fucking moderators available ? I do know about fucking enhancers ;)live out your imagination , not your history.

Re: MOVIE: MOFFIE
I am looking forward to watching this movie. The apartheid regime was indeed incredibly toxic only reason it is remembered fondly by some is because it did not survive long enough to turn this country into the complete shit show is was heading for anyway. This country would have ended up the way it is today regardless of who was the goverment. You cannot build a nationalistic socialist state and expect sustainability.
