Gemsbok calf.
The gemsbok cows on the reserve have started calving. This little guy is probably about a week old.

Very nice picture of mum and babe. You can however see that the pregnancy has had a big effect on her condition. Have you had some rain recently?

Any other pics of the cow's horns from a different angle? Almost looks as if they cross, but it could just be the specific angle. I know cows often have skew / unsymmetrical horns.

@ driepootx. We've had 25mm to 40mm of rain during the week.
@ Pirate. It is just the angle, the horns do not cross. They are a bit skew but, as you said, that is not unusual with gemsbok and eland cows.
