    Default Insight into Freyr-Devik Supressors

    Hi All

I recently came across this line of products in a local gun shop. These suppressors are light weight and manufacturer claimed to reduce recoil.

    https://www.freyr-devik.no/

I wanted to know if anyone had any first hand experience with these suppressors, in particular the 269 Featherweight model in 9.5mm (.375 Cal).

    Notably:
    • How good is the noise reduction? (Claimed 32-38 dB)
    • Is there a measurable difference in recoil when suppressed?
    • How do they affect/offset the balance of the rifle?
    • How would you rate them when compared to other suppressors?

    Thanks and regards

    Interesting Shape they made.

I see even the Featherlight. Smallest model is 44mm wide. That is pretty wide silencer to fit on a 22lr.

To me personally. Except function. I hate when the silencer/suppressor looks like this odd use piece sitting on the front of the rifle. It should compliment the look of rifle.

Thats also just straight baffles. If you look at sound waves and want the best suppression. Those chambers should not all be the same size.
But they do get claimed 32db.

Any suppressor fitted to a rifle reduces Recoil. Not as much as a Muzzle brake but it does.

Also remember the heavier the silencer or the more forward it goes on the barrel. Then more it pulls down on the rifle barrel. The Archimedes principle.
Unless you varmint type bull barrel which will counter it.

Also watch this shows how the shock waves work silencer on and off.
