    Default Hunting Bullet for 375H&H

Over the last 7 or 8 years I have been using 220gr Impala bullets out of my 375, they have proven to be accurate and are very, very cost effective. The one draw back I have found is of the animal shot doesn’t fall there and then they tend to run, even if the shot is good, sometimes quite far and all bleeding seems to be into the chest cavity - so blood spoor in the Bush is not happening. I have finally shot out the last of my Impala and although I’ll happily use them for paper punching I’m looking to get a quality expanding bullet for hunting.

I’ve used 380gr Rhinos and this puts the 375 into 404 territory, but if I wanted rainbow like trajectory I’d d just get a big bore (or use my 303 😜). I’ve used 300gr TSX Bullets and performance was flawless, but price was mad and this precipitated the move to Impalas. But I’m willing to look at premium Bullets again and had my eye on the 270gt TSX.

What else is out there worth considering?

I cannot fault the Kriek bullets, a positive is that the bloke is very open to input and willing to try a sensible suggestion. Mlani here on site does PH work using Kriek bullets.
A bullet I was very impressed with that just seemed to disappear was the Spartan made by Frontier Bullets, I am sure it still out there, but just not seen in PE anymore. (I really need to look in this matter, now that I think of it)
If I had a .375 I would be shooting Partitions on game.

Our time of using lead core bullets of premium design is coming to an end, not because they don’t work but because we(SA) barely make them, and we import precious few.

I agree with the notion of trying Kriek bullets, they are local and much cheaper than their overseas counterparts.

If you are looking for a good local monolithic, the Kriek bullets is what you are looking for.
The Claw Bonded bullet is a very well priced local bullet as well.
The Barnes/Partitions/Accubond/A Frames are obviously superb, but probably double the price of the Kriek and Claw bullets

Another local premium bonded option is the Stewart bullets made by Hansie Minnaar.

I have had personal contact with Johan Kriek. Honest, standup guy with vision and an open ear. He also stands to his products.

Second, you seem to prefer a light bullet which rules out premium bonded bullets.

Third, Kriek has a good reputation for working well.

Fourth, they are mono's, and affordable.
