Default Who made the first JHP for LE/defensive purposes

While reading recent discussions on this forum as well as having an interest in the performance of various defensive ammunition loads, I started wondering who was first to make a jacketed hollow-point (JHP). I'm specifically referring to handgun cartridges.

I know the cartridge that gave 9mm a bad reputation (undeserved) after the 1986 Miami shootout was the Winchester Silvertip. So JHPs obviously pre-date the modern FBI penetration standards. I'm also pretty certain that jacketed soft-points (JSPs) pre-date JHPs. I would like to know whether anyone here on Gunsite can shed more light on this (somewhat nerdy and technical) topic.

For rifles, it may have been the "Dum-Dum"?

I also recall the "Manstopper" for the Webley .455, although that was not a JHP, but a Lead bullet with a large cavity.

I checked them out. They seem like a more obscure manufacturer, but not a new one. Interesting, thanks!

And according to their website at least their founder indeed did invent the JHP. So it seems my question has been answered. Thanks SSP.
