.308 kill an eland??
Hello
I am going on a hunting trip in June 2020.
I am planning on taking an eland and kudu. I am planning on using a.308 with 168GR Barnes vor-tx ammunition. Is this sufficient, will it take down an eland easily? And up to what distance? I only have this one rifle. Will I need to buy a bigger rifle for this type of game, like a 300 winmag or will my 308 be ok. Thanks for your help in advance. Regards Nic

Re: .308 kill an eland??
Your .308 with Barnes Vortex ammo will be fine as long as it is accurate enough with that ammo. Sight in 50 mm high at 100 meters and you should be fine out to 200m. Once you know the trajectory of the bullet you will have no trouble killing even a big bull eland out to 250m.

Hi Luke, I have personally taken an Eland bull with my .308, using 180gr PMP.
