Cele on guns: Amended Firearms Control Act cannot allow individuals to own more than one gun
https://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/N...ENdOBRK6jF6ttQ
The amended Firearms Control Act of 2000 cannot allow individuals to own more than one firearm, Police Minister Bheki Cele has said.
The minister was speaking in Linden, Johannesburg, on Tuesday while receiving over 200 surrendered weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition from a dealer.
During the handover, Cele said the act was well under review although further consultations were yet to get underway.
He said it would be wonderful to have a country where individuals were not issued with firearms and that, among other issues, the ministry was fighting for weapons not to be issued to individuals.
"One thing we are trying to put there [in the review], is that individuals should not have firearms.”

When VIP protection at every level is outlawed by RSA, I will consider handing in my gun

What a tool. I sincerely hope that this gains no traction and law groups can stop it.

‘War’ on law abiding civilian FA owners have been declared and Cele is drawing up battle plans. This is the last stand for us. It’s fight for it or loose it.

Tik tok...
Can't expropriate people's shit if they are still armed, they might just decide that they have no desire to comply.
It's clear that this gov't feel they are in trouble, their insecurity and failing socialist policies make them dangerous.
Keep the beers cold(electr supply depending off course) and keep the powder dry.

This ‘war’ will not be won in the courtroom. Any honest legal professional in SA will tell you that. It will only be won in the hearts and minds of the public, willing to take Cele on. So leaving it to ‘law groups’ alone is not the answer. You are either part of the fight or part of the flight. Supporting GOSA is a good start.

Well GOSA does their work through the courtrooms, this issue will ONLY be won in court as it's an amendment we are against not cele himself.
GOSA, and most sport shooting, defense organisations etc would need to come together to present a class action defense, and as you say, the public should join in to.
Otherwise all Dedicated shooters and shooters of multiple disciplines are in trouble. The odd citizen with one handgun isn't going to be too phased about this.
