Many moons ago I tested non expanding monolithics for hunting, after the test I had many to mess around with. Even in 338 cal with speeds exceeding 3000ft’s still saw this happen a few times.

It brings up many questions naturally, but those animals did NOT know they were hit, even with holes through their vitals, it's the darndest thing.
I have witnessed this behaviour with animals shot with arrows. Some carry on grazing and then lie down It is a wonderfull world

I have seen a springbok go onto its hind legs and jump up into the air like a tailing marlin after being shot in the head ... really weird to see.
