Re: BACK UP POWER (question in parallel to thread)
If it's what I'm thinking of, that Honda has a tiny fuel tank, 5L or so. I would get the Husky just for that reason.
You don't want to be messing around putting fuel in a hot generator (in the dark) during extended power cuts, or if you just forget to fill it up each time you need to use it.
And running out of fuel is one way to fry the AVR double quick.

Re: BACK UP POWER (question in parallel to thread)
The ironic thing with the kloof guys is, when my boet wanted a lawnmower, they sold him into a 6k Yamaha, saying TORX engines are literally the worst
When I called them the other week, with TORX generators, suddenly TORX is an excellent brand (I have a wolf mower with TORX engine that has been excellent)
So I'm getting the Husky elsewhere up the hill, can't stand stock based marketing, same goes for dealers that push funny guns on first time buyers
Husqvarna head office has said that these are 100% Husky engines, then said they were delayed due to corona virus haha ooops.
Anyways they have spares and warranties, so lets see

Re: BACK UP POWER (question in parallel to thread)
So the generators arrived, we ended up getting two
From what I can tell its a WEIMA product of China, the Husky reps like to lie and say its made BY Husqvarna
But what I can tell you is that fit and finish is def WAY above that of Ryobi or gentech (Shineray) From the welds on the frame,
to the digital display, it all seems to be of a different quality (Suppose carrying the name they would have to)
Will be breaking it in as per standard procedure of 1 hour SAE 30, Oil change, 1 hour SAE 30 oil change, and then switching over to 5w30
Sparky will be around sometime to hook it up to the DB with a change over switch, I will then have it secured in the garage with exhaust piped out the wall
It's staying in the garage as this thing even at 90kg will grow legs

Re: BACK UP POWER (question in parallel to thread)
Hello sir
Not yet as ESKOM suddenly is able to make electricity available haha
I have run her in, so two hours on the clock
It is VERY well put together, like surprisingly well made. It is 100% a chinese product made to Husky spec
Has a Yinba Carb, but all the cabling, gaskets etc are top notch
Also with a local husky agent, I am more confident than with the builders shineray etc
It appears to be a Weima motor (honda clone) these guys make farm equipment as well as contract to Briggs & stratton etc
For the price, its well worth it
I think we paid like R8500
