Default Can a signed SAPS 534 'expire'?

    Morning all.

I have bought a rifle from a deceased estate and have a 534 signed by the executor to get it into dealer stock. The signature is dated 06/09/2019. Anyone know if there is a period of validity, real or imagined by CFR? Have all other required docs including letters of executorship, ids, death certs etc.

Take the plunge and lodge and then face the challenges thrown at you.

I would check with your DFO as each DFO seems to have own rules. But ive had previously mentioned to me that 6 months from signed date. Thats the time frame that was usually attached to writing of a Cheque. As they use to say that after 6 months if the person receiving did not act. you can presume they not intending anymore.

That makes sense. Getting anything out of the executor is all but impossible so hopefully this will fly.
