I'm not a big Three Ships fan. Don't know why. I had a bottle of 10 YO the other day. It smelled like Tekkie Town and tasted like fresh shoe sole rubber smells. It improved DRAMATICALLY with a drop of water and a few minutes in the glass, but still not a fan. The peat tasted "synthetic" to me.

Which Bowmore? I've had a couple of Bowmore's and IMHO none were worth buying again. Only their top end whiskies are worth while IMHO and they aren't cheap.

My question was about Bain's. It might not be "peaty", but is made by the people that make Three Ships. Do you also find that it "smelled like Tekkie Town and tasted like fresh shoe sole rubber smells"?

Only seen the real deal on Amazon and on Glencairns site.

But be on the look out you get similarly fluted glasses in whisky gift boxes otherwise use a good conjac glass.

First time our club tasted Bains, we all hated it. Absolte piss water, We all agree however that later it wasn't that bad.

I also enjoy the Bells Special Reserve, you can pick it up on special often enough.
