    Thanks Drie......, that is a idea - theirs are slide things, but perhaps they know of roller models.
    Need roller for heavier animals.

    I am pretty sure that an engineering shop can make you a very good hook with roller.

    Oh, and before I forget: get an inline set of rollers. When the carcass swings, it sometimes moves beyond the balance point. This causes a single roller to stop moving, or even to move in the opposite direction. Double rollers are not affected that much.

    We had a block and tackle fitted to the rollers so that we could lift the carcasses directly off the vehicle.

    It is called a rolling meat hook. The ones we used had nylon rollers, but rather get a skid hook. The skid hook works just as well and will be much cheaper.
