Yep, paper shells have thicker walls, hence smaller diameter wads as per my post #5 above.

I've also heard somewhere that because BP burns a bit hotter than NP, BP can melt plastic cases whereas it doesn't damage paper cases. I'd like to hear if anybody really has first hand experience of this.

I keep any paper cases I encounter "just in case" and I also have a set of Armour Brass cases that I bought several years ago when I thought I was going to get into this stuff. they also have much thicker walls than plastic cases. Am holding onto everything for now.
