We closed the Somerset West Pistol Club range a few days ago. But it will remain available for individual use. "Individual" means at least two, one of whom must be an experienced member. That's so that if there's an injury there'll be a second person. Also to reduce the risk of being attacked for firearms. Two people should be safe from Covid 19 if they keep a coupla metres apart and don't share a vehicle. Just before the closure I had told my club that I would not do any more RO duty. That's because on a busy day there can be twenty shooters on our covered firing line, and the RO has to be in close proximity to all of them for two or three hours.
