Winchester SXP get or not
Hi all
Looking at getting a Winchester SXP Defender after the lockdown
Wanting a pump action for multiple general use. (private low to medium duty use, not professional use)
Whats the support like for the by the agents (parts etc) in SA currently?
Should I rather look at "Edit: Benelli Supernova" , Mossberg (590, 590A1 ?) or Remington (870 ?) ?
Any known problems ?
Who are the Agents currently ? Nicholas Yale ?
All comments on reliability, parts, availability will be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Winchester SXP get or not
My Benelli Supernova had a fault from the factory, I could not get hold of the agents myself so took the gun back to the shop were I bought it, they sent it in and I got it back just over a week later so support is available and holy shit I love that gun

Re: Winchester SXP get or not
A good buddy of mine received his Supernova 2 days before the lock down, he shared a few pics with me on Whatsapp and we got into discussion.
I was very impressed. The firearm came with 3 chokes in the box, IC, M, and Full chokes. He was also able to order a high quality magazine extension and clamp from the same shop he bought the shotty. At an extremely good price I might add.
Compared to my 1301, I only received the standard IC choke in the barrel. I had to fork out around R2600 for an IM and Full choke, Briley Optima XYZ or some inane, uncommon and overpriced type. I have battled to find anything else aside from the standard Beretta +5 magazine extension, and yes I would like a higher capacity extension and corresponding clamp for added stability. I also had to move heaven and earth to find a Midwest industries side saddle and optics mount, although not essential to most, I like to have an RDS on my 1301.
All in all, great value and availability of parts on side of the Benelli. The finish on the Benelli also looks to be outstanding, please bear in mind I only saw it on a high resolution image.

Re: Winchester SXP get or not
Currently own an SXP high capacity, use it for personal and sporting purposes. No issues thus, previously had an Winchester 1300 from 97 for both sport and personal. It helped bring some medals home. Hoping to repeat the performance with the SXP.
It's definitely lighter than the 1300, has the same rotating bolt action, it should fit both uses nicely, but if you really want to shoot sports then you have to go longer barrel with chokes.
You won't go wrong with the SXP, it's value for money.
