Default Unidentified Fish on banks of freshwater pan?

I know this is a gun site but many hunters are fisherman so I would like to know if amyne can identify these fish I found on the banks of a fresh water pan here in the east rand? There where appox 8 of them in a 5m raduis some as small as 20cm others as large as 45cm? My first impressions was someone had thrown piranahs in the water and the cold water has now killed them but after some research the fish are too large and there teeth look different from that of a Piranha?

    Hello all

It is a cob in picture2 =either the Small cob or a Snapper Cob.
Picure4 is difficult; the slope of the forehead and positioning of the eyes are difficult to assess from the photo. Deterioration is also a problem. There are a number of possibilities: Dageraad, Red Stumpnose or even a Cape knifejaw.
    All found in KZN waters

I know its hard to see as the fish seemed to be in different states of decompesition? But I am quite sure they all seemed to be of the same species as the eyes sockets are all in the same place as well as there teeth all looked the same canine type? I will wait for the magots to finish cleaning the heads and then collect for some more thorough research?

Def a saltwater fish, the second photo looks like a member of the snapper family. Maybe post the pics on www.sealine.co.za for a better chance at a correct ID.
