Some advice on CZ 75
Good day all, happy to comment that i have managed to secure a mint CZ 75,will hopefully start on my SAPS Competency within the next month or so,still doing a lot of homework & i know that these have probably been mentioned a lot in the past, bare with me.What condition to carry safely remembering this is a Pre B,which Holster to get & belt as i believe this will make a huge difference at the end of the day,i am 6 foot 2 roughly, luckily my circumstances is allowing me not to carry the whole day..
any advice will be appreciated.
Regards
H.

Re: Some advice on CZ 75
carry cocked and lock.
Do not carry one up and hammer down, if you drop the firearm on the hammer side it will go off.

Cocked & locked.
Look at Jizni.co.za for a holster.
A belt needs to be stiff and wide. I prefer leather (double/tripple layered and double stitched) but have a look at the belts sold by Tacticalquartermaster, 480bc and Hailstorm.

Re: Some advice on CZ 75
I carry my cz75 pre-b with loaded chamber , hammer down.
Keep in mind that the CZ75's have an inertia firing pin. Chances of it going off when dropped in extremely slim (even with hammer down) as the hammer must move back and then forward before it can fire. With the hammer down, the firing pin does not make contact with the primer at all. Tokarev's (and clones) are a totally different matter.
I use an Army Ant Gereneral IWB holster for EDC. Very conformable. Go to Jizni.co.za for other options as well. They will have the widest range of holsters / accessories for anything CZ related.
I use a Ross Leather re-inforced leather belt, also available at Jizni.

Re: Some advice on CZ 75
Carry one up and hammer down. This will give you a DA first pull.
If you want to test this, get a rubber mallet and load a primed case into the chamber. (Wear safety glasses)
Then whack the gun using the mallet in various places. Most common/logical are hammer and muzzle.
This test will give you some peace of mind.
You will drop your gun if you handle it enough, but this should not be too often.
You will kak yourself each time you drop it... for various reasons.
If it falls, DO NOT try to catch it.Israeli Carry is for dead people

Why luckily??
EDC means Every Day Carry!!
Not some days when you feel like it.

Re: Some advice on CZ 75
I did a test wih my CZ 75 "shortrail" which is a very old ('76?) model.
Insert a primed case into the chamber.
Pull back the hammer 10mm. (That is some distance before it cocks.)
Release the hammer.
Primer goes off.
Since then I carry cocked and locked.
Some pre-B's are said to be transitonal models with or without a firing pin block. I do not know to distinguish it visually. Do the test. Be safe, not sorry.

Re: Some advice on CZ 75
I suppose there are some instances where you would NOT want to carry.
When you are drowning and when you're on fire.....
