Star mod 30M info
Hi guys,
I got my hands on a Star 30M, the guy who bought it has never shot it. It still has the 15 rounds the gunshop gave him when he picked up the FA.
Im looking to get rid of it, as I have no use for it. I have someone who is interested, but I cannot find a price on the thing on the second hand market.
Is there anyone on the forum, a bit more clued up, that can give me a value. Thanks
(I searched the forum, only one I got was from 2013, so not really relevant anymore)

Have you checked guntree and the classicarms auction prices?
I recall R2500-R4500.

Re: Star mod 30M info
When I bought one a couple of years ago I paid R3500 for it. Condition was good. K-Mag makes mags for it should the person you are selling to want more.
If the deal falls through, give me a shout and I will take it off your hands. I like Stars :)

Re: Star mod 30M info
I looked carefully at one 35 years ago. At R850 it was out of my price range!
I settled on a FEG (BHP clone) which was R700. Both new prices. CZ75 was R750
but the batch had badly manufactured frames, so I gave it a miss.

Re: Star mod 30M info
Paid R1000 for mine back in ‘92. Loved that gun. Crazy heavy and not many spares around any longer.
I would say they probably worth around R3000-4000 today.

Re: Star mod 30M info
In pristine condition I would say R4,5k max. Less for any wear or rust damage.
Check the grips. They become brittle, then the thin ledge holding them onto the frame breaks and the grip panels fall off. Spares grips are unavailable.
These pistols are HEAVY. Great for range work, but definitely not for carry.

Re: Star mod 30M info
It is a service gun churned out on mass production back in the day. It is now discontinued. Rear sights can fall off and front sights are shit.
Are you really going to ask R4500 when Glocks are going for 6K
It is worth 2K unless Factory Stavel finish or the Al model.live out your imagination , not your history.
