    To the OP.

    This can be overcome by a rack assist device and in the process keeping her independent for the racking aspect.

    Abroad there are aluminium or moulded plastic versions some Clamp on onto the finger grooves whilst others fit into the backplate slot. (replacing the backplate)

    There are also 3d printed Clamp on designs that can work.
    Send me a PM with your number (it seems that I may have an old number of yours)
    if you would like to look into the 3d printed rack assist to work with the upgraded springs system and we can chat further.

    If it can work and is suitable for her, I'll print her one (or two) with a decent structural type filament as a small gift.

    If need be, I may (more than likely) be able to draw and model a custom design for the print file if the others are not suitable.
