Looks like the HP has been done over.
Could be as mentioned assembled wrong with the recoil spring.
Also could be some over coating that is creating drag on the frame. This should work away with time.
Hopefully that coating is nickel and not Chrome. Chrome adds more of a layer over the metal that also causes slide to sit more tight onto frame.

Finally had time to test the BHP and lo and behold my grip caused the problem
Changed my grip slightly and ran 50 rounds through with no issue...
