Default Re: 12Ga Dummy Rounds - Reloading practice

Use fired buckshot or slug shells, trim to length with hack saw or sharp art knife, and fill with melted candle wax.
Nice if they can be a different colour to your live ammo you normally shoot and carry in/ on the gun.
This set up prevents confussion with live ammo, although they are very easy to identify from the front.

Just make sure to remove all live ammo from the area when doing these drills.

Lightbulb Re: 12Ga Dummy Rounds - Reloading practice

I took a couple of empty, transparent shells and spraypaint them bright pink (my feminine side showing ? ) on the inside and then asked a friend of mine to load them. He had to use flour to substitute the powder to get the length right. I'll remove the primer and use some hard O ring string, it sounds like a very good idea. Works 100% for me. Even bright pink there is still no live ammo in the room when practicing.
