Bit hard to feel bad for guys with rusted guns, when you are as pedantic as me about keeping my guns, clean, and well oiled, but never the less SB had some very relevant points there for those of you who tend to slack on the maintenance of your guns.
Remember these are an investment, and tools not toys. They will take care of you only as well as you take care of them. You want to maintain your investments right?

I wouldnt describe a working gun as an investment. Investments appreciate in monetary value. Working guns (bar a very few) like a motor car depreciate.

I would argue that a working gun, is an investment in your personal safety, and equally as important if not more important to keep in top condition and functioning 100%.
I understand where you are coming from with regards to an investment, and some collectors guns do appreciate in value thus are an investment. Wouldn't you agree BigT?
