KK20, no disrespect, but my experience with a 181 series Mini-14 gas block was different. It was very easy to remove and re-fit, without any special tools and with no difference in accuracy or point of aim. The gas bushing makes for very easy alignment of the block and then you just tighten the bolts carefully and to the same depth and torque. Really not rocket science.

    No disrespect taken at all.
Taking it apart and putting it back is easy, the trick is to reassemble it with precision.

Loop your have gifted hands and don't know it =)

When I bought my mini it was "kicking like a mule" and trying to chuck the brass to the next bay. After searching the net I wanted to find out what size the gas port bushing was. Mine had no bush in place, I measured the sizes and had one turned. I was trying a 1.1 mm id but could not get a drill so I went for a 1.2 mm hole. Recoil a lot less and the brass lands about 1.5 m and I think the gun will last longer and not battered so much. Just make sure you use decent quality imperial size allan keys of the correct size and when tightening it, make sure the gas block halves does not bottom on the gas port bush (bush must be a bit shorter than the depth of the 2 holes). I tightened mine while using a feeler gauge and tighten the bolts across. If your old bolts are damaged, better to replace all 4 if you ever want to remove them. Do not use locktite.

You may try different bullets. Mine would not shoot FMJ bullets worth a darn, but shot extremely well with my reloads using the 64 grain Winchester Powerpoint bullets, better than most standard AR15's actually.
